Centrale Supelec se dote d'un nouveau directeur général

Il s'agit du normalien et ex-directeur des Mines ParisTech Romain Soubeyran, qui prendra ses fonctions à partir du 1er septembre prochain et pour les cinq prochaines années.

Sur proposition de la Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la recherche, le Président de la République a désigné ce matin Romain Soubeyran pour assurer la Direction Générale de l'école CentraleSupélec à partir du 1er septembre prochain et pour les cinq prochaines années.

Directeur général de l'Institut national de la propriété intellectuelle (INPI) depuis octobre 2016, Romain Soubeyran avait déjà assuré la direction d'une grande école d'ingénieur, les Mines ParisTech de février 2012 à octobre 2016. Ancien élève de l’École Normale Supérieure, cet ingénieur général au corps des Mines y avait été précédemment directeur du développement et des relations industrielles, adjoint au directeur de la recherche, de 1995 à 1997, après un premier poste de directeur des mines et de l’énergie en Nouvelle-Calédonie.

Après trois années chez Elf Exploration Production, comme ingénieur en géosciences, puis responsable géosciences d’un secteur offshore d’exploration intensive, il entre à la Compagnie générale de géophysique (CGG) en 2000, en tant que chargé de mission, puis directeur de la technologie de la branche traitement sismique. En 2004, il rejoint le ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche. Pendant trois ans, il occupe les postes de conseiller technique scientifique au cabinet du ministre chargé de l’Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche, puis d’adjoint à la directrice de la recherche et enfin d’adjoint au directeur général de la recherche et de l’innovation. En 2007, il rejoint CGG Veritas à Houston, où il est nommé directeur de la technologie, avant de devenir, en 2010, directeur scientifique du groupe.
