Selon les données de la société de conseil en immobilier Kites Frank, qui publie chaque année un rapport sur les ultrariches, les personnes fortunées vont être de plus en plus nombreuses. Et les États-Unis continueront de rafler la mise. La société a compté en 2017 et projeté à 2022 le nombre de personnes détenant plus de 50 millions de dollars de richesse personnelle qui vivent dans chaque pays. Voici les résultats.
En 2017, les États-Unis se démarquent immédiatement avec 1.830 personnes dites ultra-riches, suivies de très loin par la Chine (490) et Hong Kong réunis (320). L'Allemagne est ex aequo avec la Chine, suivie du Japon (390) du Canada (270) et de la Suisse (250). La France figure au Top 10 (230), talonnée par la Russie et le Royaume-Uni (ex aequo à 220). Les seuls pays qui ont vu ce nombre diminuer entre 2016 et 2017 sont le Royaume-Uni du fait du contexte du Brexit, et la Turquie, enlisée dans une inflation à deux chiffres de la livre turque.
Dans trois ans, l'Amérique du Nord, l'Europe et l'Asie seront encore les trois continents retenant le plus les ultra-riches. C'est en Asie que l'évolution est la plus impressionnante : en dix ans leur nombre aura doublé à 55.740 personnes très fortunées en 2022. Sur le Vieux Continent, ils seront un peu plus de 47.000, et près de 60.000 aux États-Unis. L'Afrique en comptait 1.300 en 2017 et en comptera 1.560 d'ici trois ans... Entre 2017 et 2022, les ultrariches seront moins nombreux en Amérique Latine et Caraïbes (-22 %) et en Russie (-37 %).
En 2022, côté villes et pour les ménages qui gagnent plus de 250.000 dollars par an, Jakarta concentre la plus forte croissance, suivie par Le Caire, New York et Los Angeles. En niveaux, New York restera première, suivie par Los Angeles et Chicago.
