La France passe en « urgence attentat », le chef de l'Etat s'est exprimé
Quelques heures après l'attentat de Nice, la tentative d'attentat à Lyon et l'attaque du consulat français de Djeddah, en Arabie Saoudite, Emmanuel Macron vient de s'exprimer depuis Nice. "Les catholiques sont une nouvelle fois attaqués et menacés avant les fêtes de la Toussaint. La nation toute entière se tient à leur côté", a déclaré le chef de l'Etat il y a quelques instants. Dans l'attente d'un nouveau Conseil de Défense qui se tiendra demain matin, décidé dans l'urgence à la suite de l'attentat de Nice qui a fait trois morts par égorgement à l’intérieur et aux alentours de la basilique Notre-Dame de l’Assomption, le président de la République a annoncé passer de 3000 à 7000 militaires déployés sur le sol français, dans le cadre de l'opération Sentinelle, afin de protéger les lieux de culte et les écoles. Le ministère de l'Intérieur a également relevé le niveau du Plan Vigipirate en "urgence attentat", soit le niveau le plus élevé du plan.
Ce contexte sécuritaire extrêmement tendu, avec l'accélération des événements depuis ce matin, a également des conséquences sur l'agenda politique. Alors qu'à l'Assemblée nationale, Jean Castex devait expliquer en détails les mesures liées à l'état d'urgence sanitaire et au nouveau confinement, son discours a été interrompu pour rejoindre la cellule de crise au ministère de l'Intérieur. Plusieurs parlementaires ont appelé à cesser les débats, mais ces derniers ont pu se tenir tant bien que mal, et l’Assemblée a apporté un large soutien, par 399 voix contre 27, au reconfinement annoncé par Emmanuel Macron pour faire face à la deuxième vague de l’épidémie de COVID-19.
Le Premier ministre est actuellement au Sénat pour un même vote sur les nouvelles mesures de l'exécutif. Avant le détail des mesures, le président du Sénat Gérard Larcher a rendu hommage aux victimes de l'attentat de Nice.
