Le G7 finances s’accorde sur un impôt mondial

Les ministres des finances de sept des plus grosses économies de la planète se sont engagés à la mise en place d’un taux d’impôt mondial de 15 % au minimum.

C’est une étape importante qui vient d’être franchie à Londres. Le week-end dernier, le groupe des sept grandes puissances s'est engagé sur l'objectif d'un taux d'impôt minimal mondial sur les sociétés d'"au moins 15 %", lit-on dans le communiqué commun qui a été publié. Un accord qualifié d'"historique" par le chancelier de l'Échiquier Rishi Sunak, qui présidait cette rencontre en tant que pays organisateur du G7.

Pour rappel, le mois dernier, l'administration Biden avait d'abord évoqué la mise en place d’un taux d'impôt mondial sur les sociétés de 21 % avant de se raviser pour 15 %. "Nous voulons avec nos partenaires du G7, du G20 et de l'OCDE essayer d'avoir un taux plus ambitieux", a précisé le ministre français des Finances, Bruno Le Maire. L'accord est "une étape historique" dans le "combat" contre "l'évasion et l'optimisation fiscale", a-t-il également déclaré. "Le combat va se poursuivre, au G20, à l'OCDE, mais l'étape qui a été franchie, ici, à Londres, dans le cadre du G7, est une étape historique qui doit nous remplir, nous, tous Français, de fierté", a-t-il ajouté.

Le G20 à Venise début juillet sera la prochaine étape de cette réforme d’ampleur. Il s’agira alors de convaincre les réfractaires… Janet Yellen, secrétaire d’État au Trésor américain en est bien consciente. "Il y a quelques pays qui ont des inquiétudes. L'Irlande et la Chine sont des exemples", a-t-elle expliqué lors d'une conférence de presse à Londres. "Il reste encore beaucoup de travail à faire. Mais cette décision donne un élan important aux discussions à venir entre les 139 pays membres du Cadre inclusif de l'OCDE (...) où nous continuons à rechercher un accord garantissant que les multinationales paient leur juste part d'impôt", a estimé pour sa part le nouveau secrétaire général de l'OCDE, Mathias Cormann, dans un communiqué.

Selon plusieurs estimations un taux d’imposition mondial sur les sociétés de 15 % rapporterait aux alentours de 4 milliards d’euros à la France.
