Gide a aidé Idia Capital à entrer au capital de Chapoutier
Le cabinet d’avocats Gide a conseillé activement Idia Capital Investissement, filiale du groupe Crédit Agricole, dans le cadre de sa prise de participation dans le capital de Maison Chapoutier, producteur et négociant en vins de la vallée du Rhône, dont le vignoble couvre 450 hectares en France et à l'étranger (Australie, Espagne et Portugal). Cette opération s'inscrit dans le cadre d'une réorganisation plus globale de l'actionnariat de la Maison Chapoutier, aux côtés de la famille Chapoutier et de son partenaire historique Sofina.
Cet investissement favorisera le développement des activités du vignoble familial, notamment en ce qui concerne les méthodes de culture biodynamique et l'oenotourisme. Poursuivant sa stratégie d'investissement dans le secteur vitivinicole, Idia ajoute ainsi à son portefeuille une Maison prestigieuse et ancienne, saluée par Drinks International comme la marque de vins française la plus admirée au monde en 2019.
Michel Chapoutier dirige ce domaine depuis 30 ans et lui a donné une dimension internationale grâce à une stratégie de marketing puissante, tirée par les appellations d’exception, une exigence permanente sur la qualité ainsi qu’un positionnement de pionnier sur l’agriculture biodynamique. Ces efforts ont été salués par la critique avec de nombreux prix et notes dans les journaux spécialisés. S’appuyant sur un important vignoble en pleine propriété ou sous gestion, la croissance a été nourrie par l’activité de sous-traitance qui a permis de suivre la rapide progression de la demande. Le groupe s’appuie également sur une importante force de vente à travers le monde, soutenue dernièrement par des activités oenotouristiques. Le groupe dispose enfin d’un important patrimoine foncier non exploité, qui constitue une réserve de valeur et de moyen de production pour le long terme.
La Sofina est un autre actionnaire minoritaire de Chapoutier. Cette holding patrimoniale de la richissime famille belge Boël est entrée dans le capital en 2007. Elle a depuis eu l’occasion à trois reprises de soutenir l’expansion du groupe Chapoutier, en participant à de nouvelles augmentations de capital pour financer l’extension des capacités de production et l’achat de vignobles. La Sofina s’est renforcée en 2018 à la faveur d’une transaction secondaire dans le holding de contrôle. La Sofina est présente au conseil d’administration et soutient la société via sa présence dans différents sous-comités.
Le chiffre d’affaires de Chapoutier, qui n’est pas communiqué, est légèrement supérieur à 60 millions d’euros. Plus de 55 % de ses ventes sont réalisées à l’étranger. Le groupe produit chaque année plus de 11 millions de bouteilles.
