France : ce que coûterait le manque de culture financière / Près de 200 euros par mois

Selon une étude de l’assureur Allianz, un Français sur quatre (26 %) n’a pas le niveau de culture financière suffisant pour prendre des décisions éclairées en la matière. Le manque à gagner pourrait aller jusqu’à 2.390 euros par an par rapport à ceux maîtrisant les fondamentaux.

Le manque de culture financière dont souffriraient certains Français n’est pas sans conséquence. L’assureur Allianz a mené une nouvelle étude sur la culture financière auprès de plus de 1 000 personnes dans 7 pays (Allemagne, Australie, Espagne, Etats-Unis, France, Italie et Royaume-Uni). Il en ressort que plus d’un quart des répondants Français (26%), ne possèdent pas les connaissances nécessaires pour prendre des décisions financières éclairées

"Le niveau est globalement bas : seuls 10 à 18 % de l'ensemble des répondants ont un niveau élevé de culture financière. L'Italie enregistre la plus grande proportion de personnes ayant un niveau élevé de culture financière (18 % des répondants italiens), tandis que les États-Unis et la France sont en bas du classement, avec seulement 10% de répondants ayant un niveau élevé de culture financière", rapporte l’étude.

Cette étude a construit des portefeuilles de placement et a pu déterminer, par pays, les niveaux de rendements réels des placements des ménages en fonction de leur niveau de connaissances financières. De manière générale, l’écart de rendement annuel moyen entre une personne dotée d’un faible niveau de culture financière et une personne dotée d’un niveau moyen de culture financière est particulièrement élevé, allant de 1,2 % en France à 1,5 % en Espagne.

"En France, un manque de culture financière coûterait environ 2 390 euros par an à une personne ayant un faible niveau de culture financière, par rapport à une personne dotée d’un niveau moyen de connaissances en la matière. Sur une période de 10 ans, ce cumul équivaudrait à 39 270 euros, par rapport à des ménages bénéficiant de connaissances financières fondamentales", calculent les auteurs de l’étude. Un épargnant français bénéficiant d’une instruction financière élevée peut, quant à lui, espérer générer 2 730 euros de plus par an qu’une personne dénuée de culture financière, soit presque l’équivalent du salaire mensuel moyen en France. Sur 30 ans, cela représenterait 243 959 euros.
