Vauban Infrastructure Partners met un pied en Autriche / Un consortium formé avec EDF Invest et MEAG pour racheter à Cellnex ses tours télécom
L’on savait que Vauban Infrastructure Partners œuvrait déjà à la souveraineté de la France en investissant sur le (très) long terme dans les infrastructures essentielles, la société de gestion, co-fondée par Gwenola Chambon et Mounir Corm, s’attache de plus en plus à celle de l’Europe. Elle vient en effet de réaliser sa toute première acquisition en Autriche et dans les télécoms. Par un consortium formé avec EDF Invest (la branche d’investissement de l’énergéticien français dédiée aux actifs non cotés et gérant environ 10 milliards d’euros de fonds propres) et l’Allemand MEAG (gestionnaire d’actifs du groupe Munich Re), Vauban Infrastructure Partners a conclu un accord avec Cellnex en vue du rachat de 100 % de ses activités autrichiennes de tours télécom (TowerCo).
TowerCo détient et opère environ 4 600 tours télécom en milieu urbain et rural en Autriche, assurant la couverture mobile de l’ensemble du territoire. Avec une part de marché d’environ 25 %, il s’agit de la troisième société la plus importante du secteur dans le pays Alpin et la première indépendante. "L’Autriche a toujours été parmi les pays les plus avancés du marché européen en ce qui concerne le mobile, cet investissement permettra d’assurer de manière continue une couverture de qualité dans tout le pays ", explique le consortium qui assure partager "la volonté commune de permettre un développement stable de la société à long-terme et de lui fournir le financement nécessaire pour assurer une croissance pérenne ".
Une acquisition à 803 millions d’euros révèle Cellnex dans un communiqué. "L’investissement de Vauban dans le marché des tours télécoms témoigne de (notre) engagement de fournir une infrastructure essentielle améliorant la connectivité des territoires […], renforçant la diversification sectorielle et géographique de nos investissements existants ", se félicitent les associés fondateurs de Vauban Infrastructure Partners.
Pour mémoire, en France, la société de gestion possède des participations dans le leader du stationnement, Indigo. L’année dernière, elle s’est associée à la Caisse des Dépôts pour s’emparer de Coriance, troisième opérateur français de réseaux de chaleur, marquant ainsi le "réancrage" stratégique de l’entreprise en France après sa vente en 2016 à l’australien Igneo Infrastructure Partners. A l’international, elle est actionnaire du métro de Malaga en Espagne.
