Jad Ariss : d'AXA à l'Association de Genève
En janvier, l'Association de Genève prévenait que sa secrétaire générale, la Belge Anna Maria D’Hulster, quitterait son poste fin février, pour raisons personnelles. Il y a quelques jours, le think tank dédié à l'assurance a annoncé le nom de son remplaçant. Il s'agit de Jad Ariss, directeur des affaires publiques & de la responsabilité d’entreprise d'AXA depuis mai 2017. Ce dernier prendra ses nouvelles fonctions le 1er mars.
Lorsque Jad Ariss a été nommé à son dernier poste chez AXA, il était alors convenu qu'il ait sous sa responsabilité les affaires réglementaires & relations Institutionnelles, emmenées par Patricia Plas, la responsabilité d’entreprise, sous Alice Steenland, le fonds AXA pour la recherche géré par Christian Thimann ainsi que la prospective qui était du ressort d'Amélie de Montchalin, devenue quelques semaines plus tard députée La République En Marche.
Jad Ariss (HEC, université de Wharton) a débuté sa carrière chez McKinsey en tant que consultant. Il a rejoint AXA en 1995 en tant que directeur financier d’AXA Global Risks. En 1999, il est promu directeur de la communication financière du groupe, avant d’intégrer AXA France en 2001 où il exerce successivement les fonctions de secrétaire général, directeur IARD d’AXA Entreprises, directeur des ressources humaines, directeur général d’AXA Entreprises et directeur général délégué d’AXA France. En 2016, il était devenu directeur général d’AXA Moyen-Orient & Afrique. Le remplacement de Jad Ariss n'a pas encore été annoncé par AXA.
Qu'est-ce que l'Association de Genève ? Il s'agit d'un think tank international de réflexions stratégiques sur le secteur de l’assurance et de la gestion des risques. A son board, on retrouve les dirigeants des grands noms du secteur de l'assurance. Son président est le CEO du Canadien Intact Financial Corporation, Charles Brindamour. Côté groupes français, sont présentes au conseil : le Suisse-Allemand Thomas Buberl pour AXA et Denis Kessler pour Scor. Le Polytechnicien Philippe Donnet, CEO de l'Italien Generali y siège également. Jad Ariss ne sera pas le seul français au sein de l'équipe de l'Association puisque le secrétaire général adjoint n'est autre qu'Antoine Baronnet, ancien d'ABN Amro ou encore de VP Bank.
