Royaume-Uni : les directeurs financiers n’ont jamais été si optimistes

L’enquête menée par le cabinet Deloitte montre que le moral des directeurs financiers atteint un sommet, malgré le Brexit, sous l’effet du déploiement des vaccins et de la réouverture à venir de l'économie.

Au Royaume-Uni, les directeurs financiers de grandes entreprises n’ont jamais nourri autant d’espoir, selon le cabinet Deloitte. Environ huit sur dix sont plus optimistes (pourcentage net) qu’il y a trois mois, un record depuis que cette enquête a vu le jour il y a treize ans. Si cette étude menée auprès de 100 directeurs financiers - deux tiers d’entre eux évoluent au sein des 250 plus grandes entreprises du Royaume-Uni - rapporte que ces derniers considèrent toujours la pandémie comme le plus grand risque, leur inquiétude à son propos a très fortement reflué. La perception de l'incertitude par les directeurs financiers a chuté par rapport aux niveaux records enregistrés il y a un an.

Évidemment, le déverrouillage actuel et futur de l’économie britannique n’y est pas pour rien. Un desserrement des mesures de restriction qui peut voir le jour grâce à la dynamique de la campagne de vaccination (47,3 % de la population du Royaume-Uni a reçu au moins une dose de vaccin). Si bien que les directeurs financiers s'attendent à une forte reprise au second semestre de cette année. Un peu moins de 60 % d’entre eux indique que la demande de biens et de services produits par leur entreprise est déjà revenue aux niveaux prépandémiques ou y sera revenue d'ici la fin de l'année. Signe que le cycle économique se retourne, 82 % des directeurs financiers s'attendent maintenant à ce que les revenus des entreprises augmentent au cours de l'année à venir, soit le chiffre le plus élevé depuis 2014. Parallèlement, ils anticipent que la croissance des revenus dépasse une hausse des coûts d'exploitation. Un pourcentage net de 42 % pense que les marges d'exploitation augmenteront au cours des 12 prochains mois.

Sur une note moins réjouissante, les directeurs financiers continuent d’estimer - à une large majorité - que le Brexit aura un impact négatif sur l'environnement commercial britannique. Toutefois, cet évènement n’est plus le centre du monde. Il a fortement reculé dans la liste de leurs préoccupations, passant de la première ou deuxième place qu'elle occupait depuis le référendum à la huitième. On trouve à la première place la pandémie, puis le risque géopolitique et en troisième position, les inquiétudes quant à une prochaine hausse de taux d’intérêt qu’elle soit américaine ou britannique.
