Lazard a aidé Bain Capital à acquérir Maesa
Bain Capital Private Equity, l'un des leaders mondiaux de l'investissement privé, vient de signer un accord définitif pour acquérir une participation majoritaire dans Maesa, un incubateur mondial de marques de beauté qui approvisionne les principaux détaillants et sociétés de beauté opérant dans le monde. Grâce à cette participation conjointe de Bain Capital Private Equity et des co-fondateurs et dirigeants de Maesa, l'entreprise devrait passer à la phase suivante de sa stratégie de croissance. Ce sont les équipes de Lazard à Paris, New York et Londres qui ont permis à Bain Capital de réaliser cette très belle opération.
Surpassant la concurrence, Maesa s'est développée pour devenir le premier fournisseur mondial d'incubation de marques de beauté et d'externalisation stratégique. En hébergeant le marketing, le design, l'ingénierie, le développement de produits et les opérations verticalement intégrées, Maesa offre à ses clients une vitesse de mise sur le marché inégalée par la fourniture de produits exclusifs dans l'industrie de la beauté, y compris les soins capillaires, les cosmétiques de couleur, les soins personnels et les parfums. En identifiant les opportunités d'espace blanc à l'échelle mondiale, Maesa a incubé la création de marques exclusives à succès telles que Kristin Ess Hair Care et Flower Beauty et s'est associée à un large éventail de détaillants dont Walmart, Target, Sephora, AS Watson, Ulta, Dollar General et H&M. C'est le modèle unique de Maesa qui combine les disciplines des designers, des marchands de beauté, du marketing grand public et du développement d'emballages sur mesure, ce qui lui permet d'offrir un service réellement différencié et intégré à ses clients.
Maesa a son siège social à New York et à Levallois-Perret. Fondée en 1997, Maesa s'est développée au cours des 22 dernières années pour atteindre plus de 300 employés dans sept bureaux à travers le monde et génère un chiffre d'affaires annuel mondial d'environ 230 millions de dollars. Les fondateurs et l'équipe de direction de Maesa restent des actionnaires importants aux côtés de Bain Capital Private Equity et continueront à se concentrer sur la croissance de l'entreprise, à investir dans le leadership et à développer les talents. Andera Partners, actionnaire minoritaire, vendra sa participation dans le cadre de l'opération.
