Elliott accentue son bras de fer avec Capgemini
Selon les informations obtenues par WanSquare, le fonds vautour Elliott, qui cherche à tout prix à jouer les gêneurs dans l’OPA amicale lancée par Capgemini sur la société d’ingénierie Altran Technologies, vient de mettre la main sur un million d’equity swaps de cette dernière, lui donnant accès à autant d’actions à échéance du 31 décembre prochain. Cela, sur la base d’un prix unitaire de 14,33 euros, alors que Capgemini souhaite racheter Altran sur la base de 14 euros par action.
Après cette dernière opération hostile menée par Elliott, le fonds vautour a la possibilité d’accéder à 4,33 % du capital d’Altran Technologies. Ce qui en fait désormais l’un des trois principaux actionnaires. Et il faut s’attendre à ce que le fonds poursuive sa montée en puissance au cours des prochaines semaines, dans le but de pousser Capgemini à relever son prix d’offre.
Sur ce point, Paul Hermelin, le patron de Capgemini, qui présentait les comptes semestriels de son groupe la semaine passée, s’est montré inflexible. Il a rappelé que le prix de 14 euros a été accepté à l’unanimité par les administrateurs d’Altran Technologies. Et surtout que son OPA serait un succès s’il obtenait 50,1 % du capital de la cible. Autant dire qu’en dépit des gesticulations d’Elliott, il ne compte pas se laisser impressionner. Ce qui explique que le cours d’Altran soit redescendu tout près des 14 euros.
