1 - Quel fait majeur retenez-vous pour l'année 2019 ?
L'année 2019 fut une année de clarification européenne. Un nouveau périmètre européen, puisqu’il est désormais certain que le Royaume-Uni quittera l’Union Européenne le 1er février 2020. Un nouveau leadership européen ambitieux et déterminé, avec une nouvelle Commission, un nouveau Parlement et une nouvelle équipe à la BCE. 2019 fut aussi une belle année pour les marchés avec le retour en force des actionnaires individuels dans les IPO, notamment dans la privatisation de la FDJ. Enfin, un an après l’acquisition de Irish Stock Exchange en 2018, Euronext a confirmé en 2019 son ambition de devenir la colonne vertébrale de l’union des marchés de capitaux en Europe avec l’acquisition d’Oslo Bors, au terme d’une bataille compliquée contre Nasdaq. Car il n’y a pas d’ambition européenne sans dimension nordique.
2 - Que redoutez-vous ou qu'espérez-vous pour l'année 2020 ?
2020 s’ouvre avec la perspective désormais durable de taux d’intérêt très bas, et donc de rendements nets négatifs sur beaucoup de produits d’épargne traditionnels. Cette réalité nouvelle va produire une migration, homéopathique certes mais inéluctable, de l’épargne vers l’investissement en actions. Car il est clair que c’est désormais la seule classe d’actifs qui génère rendement et liquidité. 2020 s’ouvre aussi avec le Green Deal présenté par la Commission européenne. Cette ambition politique va cristalliser les multiples initiatives qui émergent chaque jour sur notre continent pour inventer les nouvelles formes de développement que requiert le bien-être des générations futures. 2020 sera clairement l’année de la généralisation des comportements individuels, mais aussi des choix de gestion, guidée par les exigences d’un modèle de développement durable. Sur ce terrain, plus que sur tout autre, ce que nous vivons encore comme des innovations aujourd’hui sera devenu un ensemble d’habitudes communes en décembre 2020.
